Tama Mirza crowned Best Female Actor in Critics category

Acclaimed actress Tama Mirza won the Best Actor (Female) award in the Critics category at the Blender’s Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2025 for her powerful performance in Chorki’s web film “Amalnama”.

Directed by Raihan Rafi, “Amalnama” is a gripping story of injustice and extrajudicial killings, centred on a family whose peaceful life is shattered when the husband is mysteriously taken away by men posing as law-enforcement officers. Tama portrays Parveen, Hasan’s devoted wife, whose life is thrown into turmoil after her husband is taken away in the middle of the night. Her performance was praised by both critics and audiences.

This marks the second time Tama has won the Best Actor (Female) award at the Blender’s Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards. She previously won in 2021 for her performance as Pakhi in “Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi”, also directed by Raihan Rafi.

Tama has built a versatile career across Bangladeshi cinema and OTT, earning the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Nodijon” (2015). She has since taken on challenging roles in projects including “Surongo”, “Friday”, “Buker Moddhye Agun” and “Daagi”, further establishing herself as one of the notable performers in the country’s film and OTT landscape.
