Tania Brishty set to return to shooting after nine-month break
Popular television actress Tania Brishty is preparing to return to acting after staying away from shooting for nearly nine months due to illness.
Tania fell ill in February this year after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. She underwent surgery that month to remove the tumour before travelling to Chennai, India, on March 9 for further treatment, where she underwent another surgery.
She returned to Bangladesh in the first week of April and has since been undergoing treatment and taking rest.
With her condition improving, Tania is now preparing to return to work. During a Facebook Live on Saturday afternoon, the actress spoke about her health and ongoing treatment, saying she is doing considerably better than before.
Responding to a viewer’s question, Tania said, “I am currently undergoing chemotherapy. Three months of the six-month course have been completed, and I am now in the fourth month. After another two months, I will undergo some tests. The doctor will then determine the next course of treatment.”
Despite her ongoing treatment, Tania said she hopes to resume shooting this month.
“I want to. I would like to start shooting from this month. Discussions are under way. Once I start shooting, I will definitely let everyone know,” she said.
Reflecting on her prolonged absence from work, Tania added, “I haven’t shot for around nine months because I was ill. I still am, but my condition was worse then. I am much better now. I am making this decision after giving it careful thought.”
The actress also acknowledged the support she has received from her fans throughout her illness.
“I want to do what the people who love me, support me and wait for me want to see me do. If so many people want me to return, then I definitely will,” she said.
Towards the end of the live session, Tania thanked those who had prayed for her, checked on her health and waited for her return to acting.
Meanwhile, Tania has the film “Tribunal” awaiting completion. Directed by Raihan Khan, the film also stars Tariq Anam Khan, Saberi Alam, Moushumi Hamid, Saira Akter Jahan, Ador Azad, Shahed Ali, Milon Bhattacharya, Ashok Byapari, Rakib Hossain Evon and Upoma.
