Shajal, Bhabna pair up for survival thriller 'Jajabor'
Actors Shajal Noor and Ashna Habib Bhabna are set to share the big screen for the first time in Tanvir Hasan's upcoming film “Jajabor”.
The two actors formally signed on to the project last month, and filming is expected to begin towards the end of this month, according to the director.
Shajal and Bhabna have both worked in the entertainment industry for many years and have appeared together in several television dramas and telefilms. However, “Jajabor” will mark their first collaboration in a feature film.
Describing the project, director Tanvir Hasan said, “'Jajabor' is a survival thriller action film. Audiences will get to see a film packed with adventure and violence. There will be suspense in almost every scene of the story. Shajal and Bhabna were finalised for the roles because the story demanded them. They both really liked the story. I believe those who go to the theatres to watch the film will not be able to leave before the story ends.”
Hasan said the film is currently in pre-production, with discussions under way regarding the actors' schedules.
“We are planning to begin shooting towards the end of this month. We have already started discussing schedules with the artistes. The plan is to complete 80 to 90 percent of the shooting continuously, then take a break before beginning the final portion,” he said.
Shajal said he was drawn to the film's story and was looking forward to working with Bhabna on a film for the first time.
“I liked the story of the film. If we can execute it properly, I think the audience will like it too. Bhabna is a talented actress. This is the first time I am pairing up with her for a film. I hope something great will come out of it,” he said.
Bhabna also expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration.
“Shajal bhai is an experienced actor. It is a pleasure for me to work with him. The story of the film is wonderful. I hope all of us together will be able to present the audience with a good film,” she said.
Alongside directing, Tanvir Hasan has also written the story, dialogues and screenplay for “Jajabor”.
The cast also includes Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Evan Sair, Sadman Samir, Atika Afsana, Omar Malik, among others.
The film is being produced under the banner of Cine Media.
