Akshay Kumar diagnosed with Covid-19, won't attend Cannes Film Festival

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar tested positive for Covid-19 three days prior to his red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.

The actor announced on Twitter that he will have to skip the prestigious festival.

Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there.

Akshay Kumar along with other celebrities like AR Rahman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia, and R Madhavan was scheduled to grace the red carpet at Cannes as part of the Indian contingent.

The Cannes Film Festival will run from May 17 to 28.
