Aparna Ghose loses her mother

Two-time National Film Award-winning actress, Aparna Ghose lost her mother around 8 am this morning (September 18).

Her mother, Jharna Ghose, was undergoing treatment at the USTC (University of Science & Technology Chittagong) Hospital in Chattogram. She was said to be suffering from a kidney disease.

The news was confirmed by the actress' close friend, director Shafayet Mansoor Rana, through his social media post. The director wrote, "It's a matter of great regret that my friend Aparna Ghose's mother passed away in Chattogram this morning."

Aparna Ghose on going home for Puja holidays

Earlier, Aparna's mother was in the ICU at the capital's BIRDEM general hospital for almost 25 days. However, her health deteriorated, and upon her wish, Aparna's family took her to Chattogram. There, she was kept under life support.

According to reports, Jharna Ghose's last rituals will be observed at Chattogram's Anandakilla's Baluardhighi crematorium.
