"If people keep belittling us, we may not make another movie"
Ananta Jalil and Barsha's "Din: The Day" was released in 107 cinema halls across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. There has been much criticism regarding the film's BDT 100 crore budget. However, Barsha feels that hate mongers are trying to ruin their success by personally attacking them on social media.
Visiting Madhumita Hall on Tuesday, Barsha told reporters, "I am really shocked that some people are deliberately attacking us and spreading negativity. They are trying to bring up my personal life, especially the reason why I didn't do films for a short time. I really don't understand why people can't just appreciate good things."
"If today, we did not work on films, then nothing would happen to us. We tried making a good movie for the Bangladeshi audience, yet some people seem hell bent on spreading fake news. Many people are spreading rumours that we brought our garment workers to watch our movies. How is this even possible? It's Eid, most of our garments workers are at their homes for Eid holidays. It is absurd to see the type of lies and fake news people make up nowadays," added the actress.
The actress also mentioned, "We are currently shooting for 'Netri: The leader'. But seeing the situation, we might not complete this movie. 'Din: The Day' might end up being our last film. If people keep belittling us in this manner, then we might not make anymore movies in the future."
"Din: The Day" is a joint production of Bangladesh and Iran. The film is produced by Iranian film director Morteza Atashzamzam. Along with Ananta Jalil and Barsha, actors from Iran and Lebanon are featured in this film.
