Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's docu-series, "Beyond the Star", will be released on December 27. Applause Entertainment will be releasing the documentary for his adoring fans on his birthday. The docu-series will highlight his journey as an actor and reveal the "Dabangg" star's off-camera persona.

The documentary will feature special interviews by Salman Khan's friends and family, including his brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan. From "Maine Pyar Kiya" co-star Bhagyashree, to "Radhe" co-star Disha Patani, everyone will divulge interesting stories about the prolific actor.

Noted singers like Himesh Reshammiya and Kamal Khan, who owe their careers to the superstar, will talk about his contributions to the film industry.

"Beyond the Star" also highlights rare and never-before-seen footage from Salman Khan's childhood. In an earlier interview with PTI, Salman Khan talked about the inception of the docu-series and how the Romanian actress-model, Lulia Vantur—with whom he was romantically linked—inspired him to go through with it.

Lulia Vantur shared her idea for the docu-series with the co-founder of Wizcraft International Entertainment, Andrea Timmins. In turn, Timmins took the idea to Applause Entertainment, who were ready to finance the series.

Salman Khan will soon be seen in Farhad Samji's directorial film "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" alongside Pooja Hedge, Prabhu Deva, Shehnaaz Gill and Sohail Khan, among others this December.
