I am really hurt by her passing: Abul Hayat

Abul Hayat has acted in numerous TV production and films together with actor Shamili Ahmed. The eminent actor reminisces the recently deceased colleague.

"I remember how I met Shamili Ahmed. Her husband was an engineer, and so am I. I was first introduced to her husband many years ago at an engineers' event. From her first words, she instantly struck me as someone with utmost humility – clearly she was an educated woman.

Sharmili acted in several films in the black and white era. Those films were much talked about, and she became very popular. I have acted with her in hundreds of projects – and have so many cherished memories together.

She even acted in many of my projects – she never put the director in jeopardy. I feel like I have lost someone close to me.

People leave, but their presence and behaviour is remembered. She left too soon, and she will never be forgotten. I hope that the Almighty grants her Jannah."
