I never compromise with my roles: Chanchal Chowdhury
Actor Chanchal Chowdhury is known for being selective about his films. The noted actor debuted in films with his super hit film "Monpura." Since then, the actor has been showcasing his acting prowess.
Films like "Moner Manush", "Television", "Rupkothar Golpo", "Aynabaji", and "Debi" remain a testament to his brilliant performance.
In a chat with The Daily Star, the two-time National Award-winning actor talks about his big-screen comeback with Gias Uddin Selim's "Paap Punno", upcoming ventures, among others.
Tell us about your experience working in "Paap Punno".
Gias Uddin Selim's "Monpura" was one of the major turning points in my career. It has been a great experience collaborating with him once again.
We have shot the film in Chandpur. I will be portraying Khorshed, who is the chairman of his village.
How different is 'Chairman Khorshed' from the other roles you have played so far?
'Khorshed Chairman' will bring a new colour to the list of roles I have played. I have full confidence that the audience will appreciate it. I never compromise in bringing life to the roles I play.
Any updates on your film "Hawa"?
The film is expected to be released soon. We had a great time during the shooting of "Hawa" as we stayed near the sea. It was truly an adventurous experience.
Mezbaur Rahman Sumon directed the film. The film will definitely create buzz all over for its unique concept.
What projects are you working on for Eid?
I am currently working in Salahuddin Lavlu's tele-fiction "Haradhoner Ekti Bagan. I have also recently completed working on a seven-episode drama titled "Picture Man" by Niaz Mahbub, where I play a sea beach photographer.
You have been appearing more on OTT than on television, why is that?
An artiste is born to perform, regardless of medium. I am satisfied with streaming platforms because of their diverse plots, innovative ideas, and challenges. I am also working for television, but being very selective about the roles and story.
