Jaya Ahsan to play Jibanananda’s wife in ‘Jhora Palok’

Popular actress Jaya Ahsan is set to appear on the silver screen as Labonno, wife of eminent poet Jibananda Das.

Directed by Sayantan Mukherjee and produced by Pawan Kanodia, the trailer of "Jhora Palok- The Epilogue" was released on the occasion of Christmas.

The movie focuses on the life of Jibananda Das. Bratya Basu and Rahul Banerjee will portray the renowned poet at different points in his life. The film will focus on the post-Tagore era in India.

A character in the movie will be based on Kazi Nazrul Islam.

"Labonno Das played a crucial role in the life of poet Jibananda Das. Apart from his mother, she was the only woman in his life. She was his greatest inspiration," said Jaya Ahsan.

"I am getting a lot of good responses since the release of the trailer. I hope audiences will appreciate the movie," added the actress.
