Marvel announces LGBTQ+ Spiderman

Marvel Comics is introducing a brand-new LGBTQ+ Spider-Man. The character is a variant of its "Edge Of The Spider-Verse" comic series.

The new hero is described as "not-so-mild mannered fashion designer" who works at Van Dyne Industries - the company owned by The Wasp's alter-ego, Janet Van Dyne.

Spiderman will "shows us a different kind of Spider-Slayer", according to the official description.

Web Weaver's co-creator Steve Fox  took to Twitter to share his pride of having a new Spiderman.

"His fearlessly femme identity is central to who he is, but it's not the STORY… Which you can experience for yourself in September!" he wrote.

The character will make his debut as part of Marvel Comic's massive Spider-Verse event, this year.
