‘Meghe Dhaka Shohor’ director Shakhawat Manik no more

Television series director Shakhawat Manik passed away at his residence in Pabna on Saturday at 9 pm. The young director was 35 years old at the time of his death.

The general secretary of the Director's Guild, SM Kamruzzaman Sagar, confirmed the news of Manik's passing to The Daily Star.

SM Kamruzzaman Sagar said that Shakhawat Manik had been suffering from Hepatitis B for a long period of time. Later on, he was infected with jaundice. As the director wasn't feeling well, he decided to visit his hometown in Pabna earlier this month. Yesterday, he died at his home in Bera upazila.

Shakhawat Manik is famous for his TV series "Meghe Dhaka Shohor". His single dramas include- "Aaj Shafique er Biye", "Tobu Valobashi", "Priyojon" and "Black Coffee", among others.
