Nuhash behind first Bangladeshi project on Hulu
Nuhash Humayun has now successfully become the first person to get a Bangladeshi project onto the US-based OTT platform, Hulu.
According to the writer and filmmaker, Hulu will officially release the name of the project soon. Nuhash also informed Prothom Alo during an interview that this would not be a web-series, rather a one-off piece of content.
Earlier, Bangladeshi content has been released on Indian OTT platforms, however, this is the first time Bangladeshi content is being released on Hulu. The young director also informed the media that the project has been made in both Bengali and English.
Sometime during the middle of this year, Nuhash had signed a deal with two Hollywood agencies, Anonymous Content and Creative Artists Agency (CAA). It was through one of these agencies that he was able to work on the project for Hulu.
Nuhash has written the screenplay for, and also directed, this untitled project. Shooting for the project took place in Bangladesh, using Bangladeshi actors. At present, the final cut has been sent to Hulu, and the filmmaker is now waiting for an official announcement.
Recently, Nuhash's short-film, "Moshari", won the award for 'Best Horror Film' at the Hollyshorts Film Festival in the US. The film participated in the Cannes Film Market and was also screened at the South by Southwest film festival.
