Amit Roy and Labonno, the two main characters of Rabindranath Tagore's famous novel 'Shesher Kabita', will be seen on the silver screen soon. In the original novel, at the end they did not get their "happily ever after". This time, the story of Amit- Labonno 's fictional reunion has been highlighted in Tollywood's 'Shesher Golpo'.

Directed by Jeet Chakraborty, the movie stars the late Soumitra Chatterjee as Amit Roy, and Mamta Shankar as Labonno. In Rabindranath Tagore's "Shesher Kabita", Labonno met barrister Amit Roy, in a motor accident in Shillong.

The film will depict that after many years of the separation, Amit now runs an old-age home near Kolkata, with his friend Narendra. One morning, Labonno, a retired professor of the University of Oxford, reached there and reviewed that long chapter of their lost love with a parallel story of a young couple there.

Apart from Soumitra Chatterjee and Mamata Shankar, the film also stars Kharaj Mukherjee, Pallavi Chatterjee and Krishnokishore Mukherjee, among others.
