Actor Tom Hardy, famous for his roles in "The Dark Knight Rises'' and "Venom", captured gold at a jiu-jitsu competition this weekend. Now, a video has emerged which shows the "Mad Max" actor submitting his opponent for the win.

It has been public knowledge that Hardy pursues jiu-jitsu as a hobby, and that the actor currently holds the 'blue belt' status in this martial art. Typically, jiu-jitsu practitioners start with a 'white belt', before moving on to each subsequent colour—blue, purple, brown then finally black.

Competing alongside his fellow blue belts, who are in Hardy's weight class, the 44-year-old won gold at the regional competition, stamping wins in both the gi and no-gi categories. A 'gi' is the traditional piece of clothing worn by jiu-jitsu practitioners.

A video was initially shared on Jiu Jitsu World's YouTube channel, which showed Hardy submitting his opponent with an armbar to win in the gi category. While, the video has since been taken down, other channels have reuploaded the video to YouTube.
