Vijay Deverakonda's Bollywood debut "Liger" performed abysmally at the box office. The movie, which had an enormous budget of Rs 100 crore, became a victim of the ongoing #BoycottBollywood trend, managing to collect only Rs 66.89 crore worldwide.

According to reports by News 18, the actor will be returning Rs 6 crore to the producers of "Liger" from his own fees, due to the film bombing at the box office. "Liger" has been produced by Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar, Charmi Kaur, and Apoorva Mehta.

In the film, Vijay plays an MMA fighter, while Ananya, of "Student of the Year 2" fame, plays his love interest. The movie was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on August 26.
