Efforts needed to fight graft

The judiciary, the revenue administration, the attorney general's office, the Bangladesh Bank and the Anti-Corruption Commission should be strengthened to combat graft successfully, analysts said yesterday. 

They called upon the ACC to concentrate on major cases for their quick disposal.

Genuine political commitment, digitisation of administration, establishment of rule of law, and appointment of the ombudsman are a must to deal a serious blow to rampant corruption.

The speakers also lamented the developing culture of acceptance towards corruption.
