Chargesheet filed in 9 days
Police have submitted a chargesheet into the case over the murder and rape of a five-year-old in Mymensingh’s Dhobaura upazila within nine days of the incident.
The chargesheet was submitted to the Mymensingh Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday evening in the presence of Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, superintendent of police in Mymensingh, and other senior police officials.
The chargesheet was prepared after receiving the autopsy report and DNA report, said Dhobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam, the investigating officer.
The child was killed after rape at Tangati village in Dhobaura on June 14. Police recovered the body from the bank of the Kangsha river and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy the following day.
The victim’s father then filed a case with the police station accusing unknown individuals, said the OC.
Later, police arrested four suspects -- Maruf, 19; Arif, 19; Rakib, 21; and Sayem, 19 -- from the same area.
