ICT verdict in case against Hanif, three other AL leaders any day
The International Crimes Tribunal-2 may deliver its verdict any day in a crimes against humanity case against Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif and three other AL leaders over the killing of six people in Kushtia during the July Uprising, as arguments from both sides have concluded.
The tribunal has not fixed a date for the pronouncement of the verdict.
The other accused are Kushtia district Awami League president and former Zila Parishad chairman Sadruddin Khan, district Awami League general secretary Azgar Ali, and Kushtia city Awami League general secretary Ataur Rahman Ata.
All four accused are absconding.
The prosecution concluded its arguments on October 5, seeking the maximum punishment for all four accused.
The tribunal framed charges against Hanif and the three others on November 2, 2025.
