Political Bogeys
When naive political leaderships have no respect for the credibility of the citizens, they mount bogus propaganda campaigns to protect their own so-called 'ideologies' and the survival of the their party, and its popularity; disillusioned about the image they are creating.
'Divide and rule' is a human nature, coming from the natural cunning inherited genetically (which can be controlled through moral exercises and practices). Politics in the under-developed countries is based on a false sense of superiority complex. The stance should not depend on the fact that an economically marginal audience (the majority) are lending ears to the cacophony of empty bombast. There are informed and independent monitors who can provide the correct feedback to the nation; remembering that the group of political parties is not the nation, as mistakenly believed by some of the pompous leaders, who bask in the glory of other past personalities.
Sycophancy is neither good, nor public politics. There is no place for private politics in national governance. The politicians have to learn how to maintain a low profile; realising that the frequency of public appearance has no relation to the enhancement of a personality.
There are several political bogies which are noticeable. One is that the so-called razakars can still unto the country. The country has survived for three decades under different regimes. Only when Awami League is in power, the country is in danger! This gimmick cannot be sold to the public any more. So better excuses are needed! The best is to offer no excuse.
The other bogey, employed by many regimes in different countries, is that, from time to time, the country is in danger from external sources. Physical occupation. Domination, and direct governance are out of date strategies. Now it is economic exploitation and control in the global village concept.
A third type of propaganda is that other political parties in the country are up to subversive, anti-people, and anti-tate activities. In that case most of the political leaders would face execution charges for treason! How many have been charge-sheeted so far? Despots deserve their fate.
The fourth bhandami is raking up history to point the mole in the others' eyes. History usually had already given its verdict; but only the politicians made convenient noises at convenient times, to enjoy the commission. A corollary is the continuing debate on political assassinations in history (any country, any where, any time). The students of history are familiar with the arguments and the counter arguments, but the local contemporary political machinery (in that country) are out to make a mountains of molehills. It is not an original idea, and may be time wasting, (conceding that justice must have its legitimate opportunities).
There are other examples with which the readers are familiar. The question is: how much time to spend on: (a) processing over judgement intermittently, for decades, on grave past issues; (b) carry on agitation or movement which does not move the current generation deeply enough for them to relate and personally get involved to the point of dedication to engine the movement forward and fuel it for the next generation to carry on; (c) live and thrive on others' charisma. The worst politician may be charged with opportunism!
Instead of getting lost in the technical details of a issue, first it may save considerable national time to study carefully the approach to an issue, and then get involved and committed, and then drag the citizens into the movement. The citizens are very much aware of the how the politicians' cat's paw operates.
Politician, heal thyself first, before diagnosing and prescribing medicines for others. Some political detergents may be released in the market, and offered at discount rate for public use. Such laundering is good for the nation. This criticism is not malefic, but spontaneous!
