Aliss earns maiden ODI call-up; Litton, Hasan Mahmud, Mustafiz return for UAE tri-series
Off-spinner Aliss Al Islam has earned his maiden ODI call-up, while Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman and Hasan Mahmud return to Bangladesh’s squad for the Afghanistan-Bangladesh-Zimbabwe tri-nation tournament in the United Arab Emirates, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Saturday.
Saif Uddin and Parvez Hossain Emon have been left out of the 16-member squad, while fast bowler Nahid Rana misses out due to injury.
Litton’s return comes after he withdrew from Bangladesh’s ODI series against Zimbabwe in July due to injury, with Emon brought in as his replacement. With Litton back in the squad, Emon has made way for the upcoming tournament.
Mustafizur Rahman also made his way back in the squad after missing the last series due to injury.
Bangladesh will open their campaign against Zimbabwe at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi before Afghanistan and Zimbabwe meet at the same venue on October 19. Bangladesh will then face Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 21, with the final scheduled for October 23 at the same venue.
All matches will begin at 3:30pm Bangladesh time.
