Bangladesh were bowled out for 234 in 78.1 overs in their two-day practice match against the UAE at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Sunday, despite a 108-run opening stand between Soumya Sarkar and Shadman Islam.

Shadman, under pressure after a difficult run, made 46 before becoming the first wicket to fall. He and Soumya put Bangladesh in a strong position with their century partnership before the innings lost momentum.

Soumya retired after scoring 57 off 92 balls, hitting six fours and a six, while Mominul Haque contributed 33.

The middle order, however, struggled to build on the solid start. Mushfiqur Rahim made four, Jaker Ali scored eight and Mehidy Hasan Miraz was dismissed for eight as Bangladesh slipped to 164 for five.

Nayeem Hasan provided some lower-order resistance with a 75-ball 36, helping Bangladesh reach 234 before they were bowled out.

UAE pacer Junaid Siddique was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 46 in 17.1 overs. Usaid and Haider claimed two wickets each.

The UAE reached 34 for one at stumps, with Khaled Ahmed taking Bangladesh’s only wicket of the innings.
