DRMC presents 5th National Art and Music Fest

Dhaka Residential Model College Art & Photography Club and Remians Music Club recently organised the 5th DRMC-Prothom Alo National Art & Music Fest 2019. The fest was a wonderful platform for displaying art, music and photography through 32 events that were held during the three-day long event. The main attractions included an art exhibition, a pop culture quiz, origami competition, meme booth and graffiti booth. Other activities included a metal head quiz, fantasy character art, photography and cartoon seminar, live photography, a meme contest and paraphernalia. It was a colourful collection of various forms of art and with a total of 2000 students from different institutions all across Dhaka came under one roof as participants.

Dhaka Art Week in review

The weekend of February 6 to 9 saw Dhaka Art Week taking place at Shilpakala Academy. The event gained huge traction on social media with many aspiring artists approaching the organiser directly to submit their artworks for exhibition. On top of that, through an online form, artists from all across the country applied to be selected for what seemed to be a very prestigious art show. Interestingly, some big names and the experienced of the art industry were also included alongside emerging artistes.

DRMC hosts 12th National Science Carnival

Organised by the Dhaka Residential Medical College (DRMC) Science Club, the DRMC-Summit National Science Carnival is one of the biggest science programmes in Bangladesh. The twelfth edition of the festival was held recently, on the theme, ‘Appetitum Scientiae - Thirst for Knowledge. The State Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid, MP, was the chief guest at the inauguration. Faysal Karim Khan, Additional Managing Director, Summit Group, was impressed by the array of events at the festival and expressed his desire to be with DRMCSC in the near future.The Inauguration was presided by Brig General Ashfaque Iqbal, Principal, Dhaka Residential Model College. The DRMC Science Club has been organising the event ever year since its inception in 2008 with a goal to create a platform for science enthusiasts and foster young scientists.

Proborton is an organisation that provides free education and healthcare services to underprivileged children. Sabbir Khan Saym, the founder of Proborton, is from the Forestry and Environmental Science department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet. He started the organisation around three years ago, with an incentive to improve the lives of children who have little means to rely upon. Sabbir started off with saving his lunch money to leave an impact on the lives of these children.
