Murals to save stray dogs: Artists and animal lovers join hands
Dhaka South City Corporation's recent plan on culling dogs brought animal lovers together to protect the innocent lives. A two-day wall painting event is taking place at Dhanmondi Satmasjid Road. PAW Foundation has arranged the event, inaugurated by celebrated artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma and noted artist Syed Abul Barq Alvi, Professor, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, along with many others.

Char Ranger Basha, a short stop-motion animation produced by HerStory Foundation and Cholpori, premiered online following its virtual launching ceremony, recently. The animation illustrates the four key principles of Bangabandhu’s politics - democracy, secularism, socialism and nationalism - through colourful metaphors and symbols for children. In an attempt to educate youth on the values and political ideals that serve as the foundation of Bangladesh's constitution, the production follows the story of the establishment of Bangabandhu as a leader and the formation of his philosophy.

Shusmita Anis and Minar Rahman team up for ‘Abar Brishti Hobe’
Noted singers Shusmita Anis and Minar Rahman have teamed up for the romantic duet, Abar Brishti Hobe, a song about a young couple, who are coping with the pandemic and recalling the sweet moments that they spent together. In the music video, the characters realise that even if they are separated, their love for each other is strong, and they will be reunited soon. The video was shot in Dhaka. Minar has written and composed the song, while Sajid Sarker arranged the music. The video is directed by Nahiyan Ahmed of Flybot Studios. Popular actors Sunerah Binte Kamal and Khairul Bashar are featured in the video. The song is set to release on August 25, on Shusmita’s YouTube channel and other digital platforms. Both Shusmita and Minar hope that listeners connect to the message of the song.
