Entry to BFDC to be prohibited after 8 pm
Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) authorities and leaders of several film organisations held a meeting on July 9, with various demands. During the meeting, they unanimously decided that no one will be allowed to stay inside the BFDC, except for shooting or dubbing purposes, after 8 pm. All the associations have to follow this rule.

Ranjon Ghoshal passes away
Ranjon Ghoshal, the founding member of one of the first Indian Bengali rock bands -- Moheener Ghoraguli, passed away today at the age of 65 due to cardiac arrest. Based in Bengaluru, Ghoshal was also known as a theatre director. His theatre group Forum Three have produced some well-known plays including A Matter of Life and Death, an English adaptation of Badal Sircar’s timeless Bengali classic Baki Itihash (The Other Side of History), Ek Sunehra Bageecha and more recently Schweyk, The Warrior, an anti-war musical comedy, which is a reminiscent of Bertolt Brecht’s much talked 1943 play Schweik in the Second World War.

Duronto TV’s 12th season to air soon
A press conference, announcing Duronto Television’s 12th season, was held online today. The new season will be aired from July 12.
Mohammad Ali Haider, Programme Head of Duronto, was the main speaker at the event. Animesh Aich, Khalid Hasan Rumia and Nasrin Akter among others were present as well. The new season will feature four new programmes and three new cartoon series.

Famed choreographer Saroj Khan passes away
Saroj Khan, one of India's most prominent choreographers, has passed away at the age of 71 in Mumbai, following a cardiac arrest. She had been admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai since June 17. She had severe diabetes, and related illnesses. Saroj Khan had been tested for coronavirus while being treated for other illnesses, but her test results were negative. The choreographer is survived by her husband B Sohanlal, son Hamid Khan and daughters Hina and Sukyna Khan. Her funeral was held in Mumbai.
