Bank Asia, BB hold anti-money laundering training in Panchagarh

Bank Asia PLC, in collaboration with Bangladesh Bank, recently arranged a daylong training programme on “Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing” at Eco Mohananda Cottage in Tetulia, Panchagarh.

Branch managers, operations managers, and officials from trade, general banking and credit departments in the region participated in the training programme.

ATM Kamrul Kabir Bhuiyan, director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

The training focused on the role of banks in safeguarding the financial system through robust compliance and risk-based monitoring, as well as mitigating trade-based money laundering and cross-border risks.

Mohd Ziaul H Molla, additional managing director of Bank Asia PLC, chaired the event.

Amitabh Chakraborty and Tarun Tapan Tripura, additional directors of the central bank, and Md Atikur Rahaman, joint director of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Department, attended the programme as resource persons.
