BRAC Bank to facilitate digital payments to Dhaka South City Corp

BRAC Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to facilitate convenient payment of city corporation fees and taxes through the bank’s digital channels.

Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, managing director and CEO of the bank, and Md Khaybar Rahman, chief executive officer of DSCC, signed the agreement at Nagar Bhaban in Gulistan, Dhaka recently, according to a press release.

Commenting on the collaboration, Tareq said, “We are committed to making everyday banking simpler and more convenient.

“This partnership with DSCC will make city corporation fee and tax payments more accessible and seamless for Dhaka residents through digital channels.

“We will continue to form partnerships with more government and private enterprises to enable seamless digital payments for our valued customers,” he added.

Under the agreement, Dhaka residents will be able to pay trade licence and renewal fees, holding tax and property transfer tax through BRAC Bank.

The initiative will make DSCC payments more accessible, seamless and convenient for residents across the city.

As part of the next phase of the collaboration, BRAC Bank plans to establish API connectivity with DSCC, enabling digital payment of these fees and taxes through the bank’s digital platforms.
