Citizens Bank partners with Desco for electricity bills

Citizens Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC (Descco) to collect electricity bills nationwide.

Md Mostafizur Rahman, deputy managing director of the bank, and SM Shah Sultan, superintendent engineer (company secretary) of Descco, signed the agreement at the latter’s head office in Nikunja-2, Dhaka recently, according to a press release.

Under the agreement, Citizens Bank PLC will facilitate the collection of Descco electricity bills through its branches, sub-branches, and digital banking platforms across the country, ensuring a convenient, secure, and seamless payment experience.

Alamgir Hossain, managing director of the bank, and Brig Gen (retd) Shameem Ahmed, managing director of Descco, attended the signing ceremony.

Md Abdul Latif, deputy managing director of the bank; AZM Sharjil Hasan, executive director of finance and accounts at Descco; Md Mominul Islam, general manager; and Md Manhaj Uddin, deputy general manager, along with other senior officials from both organisations, were also present at the ceremony.
