Guardian Life posts 34% rise in H1 claim settlements
Guardian Life Insurance Limited settled insurance claims worth Tk 334.09 crore in the first half (January-June) of 2026, up 34.3 percent from Tk 248.81 crore in the same period a year earlier.
According to a press release, the insurer settled 131,593 claims during the six-month period across life, health, policy maturity and other categories.
Of the total, Tk 175.24 crore was paid against 23,740 death claims, while Tk 140.21 crore was disbursed for 104,259 health insurance claims. Another Tk 18.65 crore was paid against 3,594 policy maturity and other claims.
“Settling claims promptly is not just an operational responsibility for us; it is the most meaningful way we demonstrate the value of insurance,” said Sheikh Rakibul Karim, chief executive officer of Guardian Life.
He said the company remained focused on making every customer interaction simpler and faster through technology, strong governance and a customer-first approach.
Guardian attributed the rise in claim settlements to its expanding customer base, growing insurance portfolio and continued investment in digital innovation, streamlined verification and faster turnaround times.
The insurer has also simplified claims procedures and strengthened customer support to make the process more convenient and transparent.
The company continues to expand insurance access through bancassurance partnerships, microinsurance solutions and digital-first distribution channels.
It now provides insurance coverage to more than 1.3 crore people, serves over 550 corporate clients and has partnerships with more than 500 hospitals nationwide, enabling policyholders to access cashless medical services.
