IFIC Bank holds awareness campaign ‘Cashless Bangladesh’

IFIC Bank PLC yesterday organised an awareness campaign on Bangla QR at AGB Colony Kacha Bazar in Motijheel, Dhaka to promote digital payment awareness among merchants and customers.

Syed Mansur Mustafa, managing director of the bank, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Speaking at the event, Mansur said the expansion of digital payment systems would play an important role in making the country’s economy more transparent, secure and dynamic.

“QR-based transactions are an easy, cost-effective and timely solution for everyone, from small merchants to general customers.”

“Under the guidance of Bangladesh Bank, IFIC Bank has been working to raise awareness about cashless transactions across the country and make digital banking services more accessible,” he added.

As part of the programme, IFIC Bank’s Bangla QR booth was inaugurated at the market.

IFIC Bank continues to work towards bringing people from all walks of life under modern, secure and inclusive banking services through its extensive network of more than 1,400 branches and sub-branches, along with its digital banking solutions.

Through live QR payment demonstrations, merchants and customers were introduced to the easy, fast and secure use of cashless transactions.

Helal Ahmed, chief of branch business and head of operations of IFIC Bank PLC; Mohammad Moin Uddin, joint director of the Payment Systems Department at Bangladesh Bank; and Md Jahangir Hossain, secretary of the AGB Colony Kacha Bazar Small Traders Cooperative Society, along with senior officials of the bank, local merchants, customers and guests, were also present.
