Pubali Bank organises awareness programme ‘Cashless Dhanmondi’

Pubali Bank PLC recently organised an awareness programme, titled “Cashless Dhanmondi”, an initiative of its Dhanmondi branch aimed at expanding digital transactions nationwide and promoting the implementation of the “One Nation, One QR Payment System - Bangla QR”.

Held at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi under the slogan, “Transactions are becoming cashless, moving Bangladesh forward”, the programme highlighted the convenience, security and role of cashless transactions in promoting digital financial inclusion.

State Minister for Planning Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki inaugurated the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Arief Hossain Khan, spokesperson and executive director of Bangladesh Bank, and Md Abdul Halim Chowdhury, former managing director of Pubali Bank PLC, attended the event as special guests.

Mohammad Ali, managing director and CEO of Pubali Bank PLC, delivered the welcome address.

The speakers said that Bangla QR enables customers to  make easy, safe and fast digital transactions across different banks and mobile financial service providers with a single QR code.

Pubali Bank’s “Cashless Dhanmondi’ initiative is commendable in advancing this goal, and such initiatives will further strengthen the country’s digital economy, they added.

Following the discussion, the speakers participated in an awareness campaign on cashless transactions and urged everyone to embrace Bangla QR to help expand digital payments.

Md Shahnewaz Khan, deputy managing director of the bank; AKM Abdur Raqib, general manager and regional head of Dhaka North region; Md Rabiul Alam, deputy general manager and head of the alternative delivery channel division; along with executives from the bank’s head office, customers and guests, were also present at the event.
