BASIC Bank signs agreement with Sonali Bank for payment gateway services

BASIC Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Sonali Bank PLC to connect with the state-owned bank's digital platform, Sonali Payment Gateway.

Under the agreement, customers of BASIC Bank will be able to make payments for fees and charges, utility bills, universal pension instalments, challan fees and payments to various educational institutions and government and private organisations through the Sonali Payment Gateway, according to a press release.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Sonali Bank's head office in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Md. Quamruzzaman Khan, managing director and CEO of BASIC Bank, and Md. Shawkat Ali Khan, managing director and CEO of Sonali Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Among others present at the programme were Abu Md. Mofazzal and Subhash Chandra Das, FCA, FCMA, deputy managing directors of BASIC Bank; Md. Rafiqul Islam, deputy managing director of Sonali Bank; Aklima Islam, general manager of Sonali Bank; Sumit Ranjan Nath, general manager of BASIC Bank; and officials of both banks.

According to the banks, the agreement will enable customers to access payment services through the Sonali Payment Gateway in a more convenient and secure manner.
