Certificate-giving ceremony held at Stamford University Bangladesh for a free Russian language course

A certificate-giving ceremony marking the successful completion of a free Russian language course was held on September 30, 2026, at Stamford University Bangladesh.

The course was jointly organised by Stamford University Bangladesh and Saint Petersburg University, Russia, as part of the outreach programme conducted under the Centre for Open Education project. The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the “My History” Foundation support the project.

The programme provided participants with an opportunity to learn the Russian language free of charge while promoting academic, cultural, and educational cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia.

The certificate-giving ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh; Prof. Dr Mohammad Jeaul Hasan, Treasurer of Stamford University Bangladesh; the Proctor, the Registrar, respected faculty members; the Russian language instructor Iuliia Uchakina; and the successful course participants.

The certificates were formally distributed to the participants by Prof. Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber in recognition of their successful participation and completion of the Russian language course.

Speaking at the ceremony, the university authorities expressed their appreciation to Saint Petersburg University, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and the “My History” Foundation for their support and cooperation in implementing this important educational initiative.

The speakers emphasised that language education is an effective means of strengthening people-to-people relations, academic collaboration, cultural understanding, and international educational exchanges. They also highlighted the importance of providing students and interested learners with opportunities to acquire foreign-language skills and develop broader international perspectives.

The Russian language course was conducted by Iuliia Uchakina, whose teaching and guidance contributed significantly to the successful completion of the programme. Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn Russian in a structured educational environment and to receive formal certificates recognising their achievement.

The successful completion of the course represents a meaningful step toward strengthening educational and cultural cooperation between Bangladesh and the Russian Federation. Stamford University Bangladesh expressed its commitment to continuing such international academic and cultural initiatives and creating further opportunities for students, teachers, researchers, and members of the wider community.
