Southeast University hosts “Freshers’ Reception and Orientation Program” for pharmacy and law students
The School of Law and the Department of Pharmacy of Southeast University (SEU) organised a “Freshers’ Reception and Orientation Program” for Fall 2026 on August 13 at the university’s multipurpose hall.
The programme welcomed newly admitted students and provided them with an opportunity to begin their academic journey with guidance and inspiration from distinguished university authorities and eminent guests.
Barrister Md Golam Sorwar Bhuiyan, Secretary, Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, graced the programme as the chief guest, while Md Moin Uddin Mazumder, Chief Operating Officer of Synovia Pharma PLC, attended as the guest of honour.
Prof. Dr Farhana Helal Mehtab, Dean, School of Law, SEU, and Convener of the programme, delivered the welcome address. Wg Cdr Rafiqul Islam (LPR), Registrar (Acting), and Prof. Dr Md Selim Reza, Advisor, Department of Pharmacy, also addressed the newly admitted students.
The orientation programme concluded with encouraging messages from Prof. M Mofazzal Hossain, PhD, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD, Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Deans, heads of departments, faculty members, administrative officers, and staff were also present at the programme.
The speakers congratulated the freshmen on their admission to the university and encouraged them to make the best use of their university experience through academic excellence, discipline, innovation, critical thinking, and active participation in university activities. They further emphasised that academic success should be accompanied by ethical values, professionalism, social responsibility, and a willingness to learn continuously. They encouraged the newly admitted students to remain curious, communicate effectively, demonstrate empathy toward others, and actively participate in academic and extracurricular activities.
