Tushi wins Best Actress as ‘Roid’ bags three awards in Canada

Bangladeshi film “Roid” has won three awards at the 12th edition of the Mosaic International Film Festival in Canada.

Nazifa Tushi won the Best Actress award for her performance as “Sadhur Bou” in the film. “Roid” also won the Best Cinematography and Best Music awards at the festival.

The international jury recognised Tushi for her performance in the film. Joaher Musavvir Jyoti won the Best Cinematography award, while Rasheed Sharif Shoaib received the Best Music award.

“Roid” has already earned recognition at several international platforms. The film was selected for the main competition section of the Rotterdam International Film Festival in the Netherlands.

It has also been selected as Bangladesh’s entry for the International Feature Film category at the Oscars.

Directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, “Roid” explores the timeless, primal nature of love through love and silence, reflecting on human evolution.

The film features Nazifa Tushi and Mostafizur Noor Imran in lead roles, featuring Gazi Rakayet and Ahsabul Yamin Riad among others.
