Audiences have been thronging to cinema halls since the first day of Eid-ul-Azha to watch some of the films released. Multiplexes in Dhaka have increased the screening numbers for local films, cutting down on the number of shows for Hollywood flicks, due to the growing interest in Bangladeshi movies.

Swastika Mukherjee took to Twitter to express her displeasure with artistes representing the great poet Rabindranath Tagore in recent projects. Her post comes just two days after actor Anupam Kher announced his new project, where he is supposed to be playing Tagore.

It appears that the golden age of cinema is returning once more. Audiences are going to theatres to see Bangla films instead of Hollywood flicks. This Eid-ul-Azha, five notable films were released, capturing people's attention.

The first day, July 13, will feature performances from eight exclusive bands, including Old Dhaka Diaries, Firoze Jong, Indalo, Bangla Five, Level Five, Owned, Odd Signature, and Dads in the Park. The lineup also includes Hathirpool Sessions, K-Pop Performance, Rayhan Islam Shuvro, and more.

In an interview with a local daily, Shahid Kapoor has once again tried to defend his blockbuster film "Kabir Singh" which was criticised for glorifying abusive behaviour.

Directed by Atlee, the film will feature Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role. Nayanthara will make her Bollywood debut through this movie. "Jawan" stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist and Sanya Malhotra as a pivotal character.
