Bishnoi gang planned to extort Rs 5 crore from Karan Johar

Popular Bollywood based filmmaker Karan Johar was on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang's extortion list, reports media. The gang allegedly wanted to extort an amount of Rs 5 crore from the director.

A police officer confirmed that Siddhesh Kamble, alias Mahakal, a member of the gang, has disclosed this information to the investigating police officials. However, these claims has not been verified yet.

As per police reports, Siddhesh was a close associate of Santosh Jadhav, the suspected shooter of the Sidhu Moose Wala death case.

As per further reports in this regard, the police also think that Siddhesh might be 'bragging'.

Earlier, Siddhesh had given Intel on the murder by naming Santosh and Nagnath Suryavanshi for being involved in the killing.

According to his statement, Vikram Brar, the brother of Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar, had shared such plans with him on social media apps Instagram and Signal.

However, the police believe that this gang has a strong motive behind bragging about their plans. Through such actions, the gang plans to become more popular by associating with high profile cases so that they can extort bigger amounts from their targets in the future. This trend is seen very commonly among such criminals in Punjab and it's neighborhood.
