Celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, a ten-day programme, “Mujib Chirantan”, began yesterday at the capital’s National Parade Square. With the motto, “Mohakaler Torjoni”, the second day began with a formal discussion session hosted by Dr Kamal Abdul Nasser Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee.

On the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, the Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation arranged a ten-day theatre festival at Bangladesh Mahila Samity. The festival was inaugurated yesterday, with the 242nd staging of the popular play, “Court Martial”, by Theatre Art Unit.

Noted percussionists Hanif Ahammed and Partha Guha fell victim to a road accident on March 13, 2021. The accident occurred in Chattogram's Mishorai, when a lorry hit their microbus from the opposite side. While Partha died on the spot, Hanif was declared dead in Chattogram Medical College Hospital. The duo had just finished a show in Chandpur, where eminent artistes Imran and Kona also performed. Prominent singers, songwriters, and composers took to social media to express their condolences for the tragic loss.
