The 83rd Golden Globe Awards witnessed a striking cross-cultural moment when Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Lalisa Manobal appeared together as presenters at the ceremony in Beverly Hills, instantly drawing cheers from the audience.

Popular Bangladeshi filmmaker Raihan Rafi has been awarded the Starship Inspiring Ten 2025 honour in recognition of his contribution to the cultural sector. The awards were presented at a grand ceremony held recently at the ballroom of Hotel Sheraton in Banani, Dhaka.

Speaking about television dramas in Bangladesh, he said, “Bangladeshi dramas are story-driven. Many well-written stories are being brought to the screen, and audiences are watching them.” In response to another question, Fazlur Rahman Babu said, “I consider myself a fortunate actor because I have had the opportunity to play many challenging characters in dramas. I am still doing so and want to continue in the future.”

Rose Byrne offered a light-hearted explanation for why her longtime partner, Bobby Cannavale, was absent from the 2026 Golden Globes, where she won best actress in a musical or comedy film for “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”.

Running from January 10 to 18, the nine-day festival is screening 245 films from 91 countries, making it one of the largest global film showcases in Bangladesh.

Badhan revealed another exciting update that she has signed on for a new film, expected to start shooting after the elections. Additionally, her film “Master”, directed by Rezwan Shahriar, has been selected for the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and Badhan will attend the event herself.

Released in 2000 under the Soundtek banner, “Hridoypur” has now completed 25 years. Yet, even after all these years, its songs remain vibrant and alive. These evergreen tracks continue to stay close to listeners’ souls—and will undoubtedly do so for many, many years to come.

Blending reality with imagination, the story explores various facets of love and human choices. The government-funded film “Jibon Opera” is expected to target mainstream audiences. The filmmakers and production team hope to combine the grant with personal investment to develop the film into a fully-fledged commercial production.
