The Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) commenced on Saturday, aiming to showcase 252 films from 74 countries throughout the duration of the event.

Invited as a special guest by dignitaries, Salman Khan graced the red carpet and posed alongside legendary actor Anthony Hopkins.

The 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) officially kicks off today, featuring a lineup of around 250 films from 74 countries, including Bangladesh. The festival, spanning nine days from January 20 to January 28, will showcase 71 films from Bangladesh. Notably, the films “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” and “Fereshteh” will be available for viewing at the festival free of charge.

Marking her debut on the silver screen with Gias Uddin Selim’s “Paap Punno”, Shahnaz Sumi has continued to prove herself with projects like “Damal”, “Buker Moddhye Agun”, and “Mobaroknama”. The dancer-turned-actress dropped by The Daily Star for an exclusive photoshoot and some chit-chat.

The story, penned by Nuruddin Jahangir, explores the themes of women's empowerment and maternal independence, bringing the narrative to life with the stellar performances of Mosharraf Karim and Parno Mitra. 

The first look of the film was revealed on January 2, with its release date set for February 9. Today, the official trailer of Soukarya Ghosal’s directorial “Bhootpori” was released, marking Jaya's debut in a horror film.

Reports also hint that the production has already begun, and fans might receive the announcement of "Inshallah" very soon.
